about

If God were to speak would he speak through the mouth of a preacher? What of his son? Jonah would soon wonder this same thing as he watched his father cane his way to the pulpit, that is, until he heard his own voice. He knew then that his Lord had no intention to speak, only to hear.

Jonah was disgusted with the fall of tradition. He saw the cultural dominance of his own country to be the most destructive and pervasive threat to his Lord. He went around the country in response to this threat, delivering his message to as many as would hear. He urged people to give all they had to his church in the name of God. The message grew clearer and his following grew stronger. There were soon too many for any town hall or city square.

Jonah knew they must worship together for their praise to be heard and so he led the construction of a great temple, one even Solomon would kneel to. This would be his legacy. This would be how His message, his father's message, would live on in an age of corruption and disease.

His message was a message of equality. It was his people's message as much as it was His. And so the larger his following grew, and the more spent on his great temple, the more dissent spread in his flock. They no longer needed a leader. Jonah was convinced that the corruption he was fighting was pushing its way back into the minds of the saved.

The temple was not finished a day when he heard the true message of his Lord - His father was murdered. Jonah knew then that the temptation of the modern world was too great, the corruption too deep, the fog too thick. He had nothing left other than his word and He knew that would die with him. He knew that He could not be around forever.

Jonah knew that he would die and the corruption he fought with every ounce of his soul would return to stain the walls of his temple. He was convinced that he must save his followers before the world corrupted them any further.
